Reality of Computer science vs Other Engineering branches

The word engineering is itself a complete word to define the whole education system of India. India is the Giga factory for the highest production of engineering graduates in the world. Even greater than China+USA. There are really shocking stats but it's true that engineering is something overhyped in some parts of India. Like- 'you don't want to do anything in life, then become an engineer' translation-'Beta agar Zindagi me much nhi kr sakte to engineer he ban jaao'. Yes, it's sounds strange in other parts of the world because engineering is a noble profession. But in India, such noble is now have become noodle.

One of the reasons that India is producing engineers at a large scale is because of its great future ahead and to develop a mark in manufacturing to a big consumer scale. And the other prospectus could be a lack of awareness in choosing a career, maybe students are not exposed well to the outer world and future opportunities.

Since the era is changed and now students are more aware of the exterior world and future possibilities through social media and different internet platforms. But with the rise of this social media and internet era. One domain of engineering has also boosted up that is "Computer Science " and "Information Technology". Even after Dotcom burst and thousands of ruined jobs in this sector, The sector of computer science is expanding itself. And compared to other streams of engineering, people enjoy better work culture and exposure with perks and career opportunities in the field of CS. Even it is true that Computer science is having a bright future ahead with huge opportunities in the field of Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, Big data, Automation, and everywhere. From education to agritech everything is going under the revolution of computer science.

But besides this, we should not forget that when supply is more than demand, it unbalanced the whole community. It is it's true the Computer science is having lucrative career options. But it's false that other streams of engineering will have fewer opportunities and will collapse. This needed to be mentioned here because every year around a million students in India Appear for JEE(joint entrance exam) and belives that engineering will fetch them to top lucrative salary packages in the top corporates. A student having a good score in JEE, who even deserves to be in Top tier 1 college like IIT's gets CSE, then he is the hero for society if he doesn't get CSE in top IIT. Rather than looking for other top branches, he will move to Lower colleges, even if he doesn't get computer science there he will admit himself in tier 3 colleges, But still wants CSE. It sometimes looks funny but this is a bitter truth. In India, students do not select colleges and streams but streams and colleges select their students.

Students and parents should understand the point that computer is nothing without electronics and electronics can't be made without mechanical and whole the work is carried out by effective teamwork and collaboration of all streams of engineers.

let's also listen to a funny fact in India that many people in India think by learning Computer science and coding there Chintu can become an entrepreneur. But everyone knows the reality that without knowledge of finance and market position your best idea will also fall down.

Undoubtedly technology is emerging at its height but don't forget that technology is nothing without its foundation of hardware. you can't change the world by learning some domains of CSE, all the algorithms of technologies work well with the combination of proper tuning of all engineering branches. and this proves that all domains of engineering have good career options, the only thing is that you should have an interest and reason to become an engineer. Because we engineers are the creators of the future. It's a completely false assumption that India has an excess of unemployed engineers. But the truth is Indian engineers are highly skilled and employable globally in all domains. See the example of Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, and Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, etc. The list of the contribution of Indian engineers is too long from NASA to ISRO and BARC. The only fact is are we doing something worthwhile or not.
